Growing Orchids Indoors
Caringfor orchids in your home is not
difficult—if you choose the right types
(see page/6).
Improper watering is
the most common reason fo r failure,
followed by poor light. Ifyou find a
well-lit location and pay close
attention to watering,you’ll be
delighted at the results.
LIGHT
Most orchids thrive
at or near an east
window, or in a south
window with a sheer
curtain. West windows
can be too hot, north
windows too dim.
STAKES
The tall, delicate flower
stalks need support to
avoid breaking. Slender
bamboo stakes and
small clips or wire
secure the stems.
